And so he wanted to make sure that when we lift up the pause, that we gave people a little bit more breathing room. And that is where the student debt relief comes from. And so the President took action and made sure that people were getting shots in arms and we were moving to a place where things could open — schools could open, businesses could open.

We want to make sure that it’s done in a way that we protect our national security and that we protect Americans. And so, that’s what we’re going to keep saying, keep calling on. And — and we’ll let the universities handle that process on how they’re — how they’re dealing on the ground. There’s time — there’s time — there’s certainly time on the books to see how this plays out. But I think really what this weekend showed is that, at the end of the day, despite substantial effort by a lot of parties, including the Russians, to figure out a way to not have this bill pass, it has passed. And I think the message that that sends is that, at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, the United States is going to be there with the resources necessary for Ukraine.

And anytime we see any threat stream involving a terrorist threat to the homeland, we mobilize every asset and resource of the U.S. government to go after that. And that includes information and analysis that we have shared with the Congress about plots emanating from the Middle East, plots emanating from other places. And then we are having conversations with the Israelis, as I have described. And again, at this podium, I’m not going to go into details on them in terms of what precise messages we’re passing. It’s important that we be able to talk to the Israelis in the way that we always do — as good friends, as honest friends — and we will continue to do that.
Press Briefing by Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre
You heard from him also on Saturday on this. There’s been multiple statements from this President. And he’s taking action to provide additional support to ensure that Israel has the — has what they need to defend themselves.

You can’t step into a job interview on one of the other continents and the people in that room know more about your history than you do. Arguably the easiest job in politics is being the White House press secretary during a Democrat administration. And yet, she fails at that job in the most spectacular fashion.

President Biden believes all information related to President Kennedy’s assassination should be released to the greatest extent possible consistent with, again, national security. This is indeed a priority for this President and his administration. We have seen the work that he’s done this first year and a half. He did the most — did the most executive actions on gun violence than any other President. And so, clearly, this is a priority for this President. So it’s a key step on the path to a full-year government funding bill that delivers for the American people.
Many Republicans say over and over and over again that we need to do work at the border, that we need to secure the border, but yet they refuse to work with us on this piece of legislation. Instead, what they choose to do is do political stunts. It is important that they deliver the resources we requested for the border security and management. They need to pass the comprehensive immigration reform that we have put forth.

That goes to show you how closely they are following the — the U.S. Congress, because it means the difference between having them — the tools they need to put up that fight effectively and not having those tools. But you can also measure it just in terms of the — the wear and tear in places on a frontline unit who has to ration ammunition because they’re not getting the steady flows. And with that, I’d be happy to take your questions. The Czech government, whose Prime Minister was just here recently, has raised enough money to purchase half a million artillery shells for Ukraine, with hundreds of thousands more beyond that to follow. Second, our allies, as the President said this morning, have been mobilizing in support of Ukraine alongside us.

They are threatening settlements to the west of Avdiivka. And, of course, they’re raining hell down on Kharkiv and other cities across Ukraine. And I have to say, standing here today, it was too long. And the consequences of the delay have been felt in Ukraine.
So, I would just refer you to — to their own words. We talked about kids making sure that they’re getting healthy lunches. That is something that this administration has provided. As we’ve seen, the pandemic — COVID has had a devastating effect on our kids. And — and so, look, the President is committed to — to making sure that education for all of our children — regardless if you’re in rural America, urban America, all across the communities — is — it’s a priority and this — that the students and the kids get what they need.
Just before you came out, the President had authorized the release of documents related to John F. Kennedy’s assassination. And since you’ve been at the podium, the National Archives has started posting those documents. So, there was no emergency, just to be clear, or a security situation. It appears that there was a radio miscommunication upon — upon departure.
“I think everyone’s resigned to the fact that she’s not going anywhere on her own,” said the second source who described Dunn’s autumn conservations. “She is an incredibly quick study on a variety of policy issues that she has to be appraised of every single day,” that ex-official said. And tell him KJP isn’t going anywhere so this is a ridiculous piece,” Dunn wrote in the message. “She has been pretty consistent in telling people from the minute she got the job that she was going to stay through the election,” they said. The revelation of Dunn’s plan is likely to make for awkward workplace dynamics, the first source said, but is unlikely to result in Jean-Pierre’s departure.
Overseeing Tuesday’s panel and advocating for the administration’s federal action plan was Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris. Emhoff said the plan aims to reduce the country’s roughly 132 suicides a day. Blacc encouraged people “to offer a moment of joy” when they reach out and to share a positive memory that’s going to bring the person joy.
